‘Field Fold’ is the name of the umbrella design studio established and run by Helen McGilp as a freelance artist, designer and researcher.
The studio provides a dedicated design, development and experimentation space for cultivating a variety of projects in partnership with established and new collaborators. This flexible approach brings together a range of creative, technical and logistical expertise on a project-by-project basis.
Based in the West of Scotland, we have also worked with individuals, organisations and communities across the UK and internationally.

ABOUT US
Helen has over 25 years of experience spanning practice, research and teaching. Alongside study, with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, MPhil in Digital Design and PhD in Design Research, she has worked with many individuals and organisations over this period on a broad range of creative and innovative projects, and draws on this experience and network in her freelance and consultancy work.
